I hope you’ve enjoyed perusing 38 House and learning more about us. Here’s a little about me:

I grew up in Asheville, NC. After graduating from college at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, I returned to the US and worked in marketing for Kiawah Partners, the developers of Kiawah Island. Following Kiawah, I moved south and worked as a golf writer and editor for LINKS Magazine in Hilton Head Island, SC. At both of those jobs, I learned incredible amounts from brilliant people. Every day I worked with designers, photographers, writers, videographers, and best yet, I got to travel the world.

Before founding 38 House, I was the Director of Communications and Marketing at Christ School. From discussing net tuition revenue and tuition setting to planning ad campaigns, serving on accreditation teams, and building strategic plans, my time at Christ School was formative. I served on the Board of Trustees at Christ School before I was hired, so I’ve experienced boarding school and business operations as a student, administrator, and trustee. I’m extremely proud of my work at Christ School and I’m proud to call them one of our clients.

I couldn’t be more excited and passionate about the work we do here at 38 House. I hope we have the chance to work with you.

We’re excited to get to know you and your school community or small business, but here’s a bit more about me!

My relationship with private schools started early as I attended a Pre-K through 8th grade small independent school beginning in 1st grade, and then an independent boarding and day school for my high school years. Knowing that the small school community was a great fit for me, I attended Elon University. After Elon I worked at Kiawah Island Golf Resort trying my hand in the golf business…but determined that I’d rather enjoy the game as a hobby. Additionally, I confirmed that I wasn’t built for the Charleston heat and moved back to Asheville to begin work at my high school alma mater in 2007.

During my 17 year career working in independent schools I served as an Assistant Director of Admission, Director of Alumni Relations, Athletic Director, and Associate Director of External Affairs. In addition to my administrative roles, I worked in residential life as a houseparent, was an assistant coach on four state championship basketball teams, served as head basketball coach for a season, and was also a head golf coach for six years. In short, I worked in and understand most every aspect of independent boarding and day schools.

I believe in the work that 38 House will do for your schools, helping and adding value wherever we can!

Hobbies: time with my family and playing golf. I’m also working on my home DIY skills…

Favorite Place: Tybee Island, GA

Fun Facts: my birthday is July 4th. I also love bacon and pickled okra.
